Over 250,000 people in the United States die each year from preventable medical errors, the third leading cause of death, after heart failure and cancer. ACHE believes that leading for safety and prioritizing the development of a safe culture is a leadership imperative that we must address as a community of leaders. That is why ACHE is focused on helping leaders understand the strategies and best practices for advancing an organization’s culture of safety.

One of ACHE’s current strategic priorities is to amplify the importance of safety, and provide the tools and strategies healthcare leaders need to foster zero-harm workplace cultures and environments. Much of the foundation for this strategy has been built over the past two years through ACHE’s partnership with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement/National Patient Safety Foundation, which collaboratively developed: Leading a Culture of Safety: A Blueprint for Success.

Join us at the 2018 Congress on Healthcare Leadership, where Leading for Safety is a priority topic.
